Man we need 50$ Silver
All these preppers would really get a boost if silver could get its lazy azz into the 40's and 50's, thats not much to ask. Inflation has destroyed everything else. Preppers need food, land , raw materials , tools weapons , and everything from soap to TP to 10 cords of Firewood and where the heck is Gold and silver? And all those savings accounts in pms arent gonna move to tangibles till the price is at least on strength huh?
Maybe the PTB will keep pms low till the last minute . I think silver will eventually find a floor in the 70 to 120$ range -- like by the summer of 09. Cause actually all these savings accounts arent doin a darn thing for the prepper on a budget. Darn if we enter SHTF deepest darkest depression before we can pull 50,000$ out of out pm stash without wipeing it out some are screwed. Rock and a hard place. Can you imagine the boost to the average prepper who could dump 1/3 of his pm holdings at 70$ silver and $2300 gold? Buy the farm, get the goods.... huge.... Ya know in argentina at the time of the worst pms were not very handy for some. |

Kind of like hoping for the moment you get to use your fire extinguisher to stop your house from burning down.

We quit buying and going all in to survival preps , as are short in many areas. Its nothing to put 5k$ into guns and ammo. I could go to a hardware store and spend 10000$ in 1/2 an hour and still be woefully short.

Anyway, Wille, can you be totally self sufficient in the Reno area? If so, and if the farm is on a fixed rate loan, you will be fine. Inflation is coming hard, as if you didn't already see the tremors in the stores this year already. When it hits big time, those loans will be paid off with , dare I say , FunnyMoney. So I would suggest, when silver hits 32 or so mid next year, that you think about taking out a fixed rate low interest loan for a small amount of money, with a 5-7 yr term, to buy the things that you still need, instead of selling off your silver. You shold be able to use the silver or your property as collateral and should be able to get a rate under 8.5% through next year. LT rates will likely push up higher moving into the next decade. Or maybe by then you will have the cash saved up, I would not get overly anxious about the final items on your prep list - the "slow road to boil" is still the most likely scenario, and most of the SHTF scenarios evolve over many months if not a year or 2. Wait for 3 digit silver at least prior to closing out debts. JMHO so DYODD. |

What is so special about $50 spot? That is like going on a trip and you don't know how long the trip is but you are getting excited about the 50 mile marker.

You got that right ....... I was just looking at a recent clip from "The crash course"(chap 15 I think) and there was one part where it showed the historic bubbles tech and real estate plotted on a graph.... then what the recent bubble in real estate is ( it dam near went parabolic) there is no way to even grasp what is going to happen......because the Great Depression really cant be used at a point of reference. As I watched that clip I just said to myself: ALL PAPER IS TOAST.....EVERYTHING THAT IS AVAILABLE TO THE AVERAGE PERSON IS DONE FOR. When it dawns on people that the jig is up what do you think is going to happen to silver?? The only stampede we ever saw into metals was almost 30 years ago and that was based on GREED AND SPECULATION. BUT NO BODY......I REPEAT NOBODY HAS SEEN A STAMPEDE INTO METALS BASED ON FEAR AND PANIC. Think about that the next time you hold a ounce in your hands. T |
Re: Man we need 50$ Silver
Im only in Reno for 3 more months working for a contractor at $39 an hour -- Its a gamble-- I could bug out in a moments notice-- darn talk about playing with fire. Paying $4.77 for diesel:shot:
I meant $50 as a starting point where us poorer folks can start feeling a little richer -- and able to sell 20 ounces from time to time to pick up that 3rd generator or that nice Kimber 45 for sale in the newspaper. If were gonna have a gradual meltdown , the pm prices have a lot of catching up to do. I see 100 to $200 silver as the new norm in '09. BUT CAN WE LAST THAT LONG??? wwouldnt you agree there WILL be some explosions in certain aspects during the coming meltdown? 3 digit silver to close out debt? I totally agree. Like so and so said ; If your underweight pms then it dosent matter what the price is -- get them they will be the only way to preserve wealth. Its to late in the game having ones azz hanging out the window playing the debt game for my psyche. Its a great idea tho. to many irons in the fire. Slow boil absolutely but take ammo for instance; $1.00 a round for 308 cartridges-- I was out in the desert shooting this weekend and went into a country store to pick up more 223 and I paid $21.00 for a box of 20. |
Re: Man we need 50$ Silver
^^^ Ammo is going through the roof for 2 reasons.
1) good ole inflation care of BB and Hanky Paulson 2) I think there a agenda in play the average person is going to priced out of being able to buy. ( I see a day where 3 +P hollowpoints will dam near fecth a good meal) T |

Re: Man we need 50$ Silver
I need the price to hang a little longer. I don't even have 200 oz's yet, but I do have lots of preps. It's kind of a chicken or the egg deal. What to spend income on, preps or PM's. The longer things percolate, the better. I'll keep doing what I've been doing, preps and PM's, one then the other. We need to belly land this airplane, and still walk away.

But serioulsy........The ramifications are truly unprecendeted.... The reason why silver is still in the dog house so to speak is because the manipulation is absolutely mindbogeling it cuts across the entire GLOBAL SPECTRUM. Gubbermints, Industrials, Financials,Medical sectors they all work in collusion to keep the price suppresed. Think about that ........ The mere fact that they work together speak volumes as to how afraid they are what will occur if silver gets out of control. Our day in the Silver sun is coming and there is nothing they can do to stop it. T |

Re: Man we need 50$ Silver
One more thing.........
NEVER ........I REPEAT NEVER TALK ABOUT THE AMOUNT OF YOUR STASH. THAT IS YOUR BUSINESS AND YOUR BUSINESS ALONE!! Ten Commandments For Buying Gold & Silver: I. ALWAYS TAKE DELIVERY! NEVER let the firm store it for you! Do not place them in a safety deposit box. They can be frozen pending litigation or national emergency. II. Never buy premium if you can avoid it. (Hint:) Most precious metals being sold on TV or Radio are at premium or much higher. III. Buy bullion for business, numismatics for fun. IV. Buy silver first, then gold. You get more for your money with silver and the reasons are the same. V. Buy small gold first, then large. It is always wise to hold multiple denominations and forms. VI. Never buy exotic coins or modern rarities or ANYTHING YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND. When it comes time to sell, it is very likely you will not get the price you paid. Remember that Rarity and thus value is in the eye of the buyer not the seller. VII. Know your dealer. This relationship will be invaluable as time goes on.( It is wise that you form several independent of each other). A true dealer will take time to educate you and answer All your relevant questions without putting a hammerlock on you to buy something. VIII. What governments can't find, they can't steal, nor tax And lawyers can't sue thus the ULTIMATE in asset protection. IX. NEVER talk to anyone about where you store your physical metals or the amount you actually own, Loose lips sinks ships. X. There is no need to ever break the law. Because the laws on the books will ALWAYS Favor those who are rich because it is them who write the law in the first place. XI Always do your own independent due diligence. If a deal is sound it will remain sound until after you research it. TRUST, BUT VERIFY ALWAYS. |

Funny; do you think the Corp / Fascist will allow me to pay off loans in worthless fiat? I cant imagine the greedy monsters would allow that much money left on the table. Its easy to assume we can pay off debts in the future with ever more worthless fiat but darn were near zero (.25 DX) now and THEY arent letting any chickens out of the coop. Not to Guru the guy bu Kal Gronvall dosent think we'll go into the amero but straight into a digital money and the mark of the beast scenario. Im not banking on being given anything from the entity wants me dead or in prison anyhow. and really how many Gimmers are sophisticated enough not to just get out of all paper and into preps, land, arms, and pms? 2%? The S may not HTF fast or soon civily but the prices for prepping may become out of reach-- so yes were running out of time and the s is hiting the f to that degree. And the goal of bringing down the standard by the NWO crowd of living of the US to match global community is successful-- they succeeded. Whats next on their goal list? Martial law? This is real wisdom. By the way, don't want to make you blush, but you "nail it," a lot! :emotions16: Between now and January 20, 2009 (next president will be sworn in), doesn't it feel like we're on what could be the wildest rollercoaster ride in our history? If if does, the "weight" of our precious metals (and preps) will help keep us GIMers in our seats...so many will be "flung off," the coaster into poverty, pain and despair. Don't look back, keep stacking & prepping...this ride is gonna be nasty. Ford, GM, AIG, Citi, Merrill, Lehman Bros. if their mortally-wounded stock charts were hanging at the foot of a hospital bed...it would be time to order flowers and call a Priest. Twisty, it might get bad enough next year that you're proven to be an optimist! |
Re: Man we need 50$ Silver
I've bought a fair amount of "scrap" silver over the past few years from Ebay, and it's turned out to be pretty good stuff. I actually bought it to make a little "bullion" bar for a friend's newborn girl, as something she could keep. It ended up being around 2kgs (4lbs-ish!), and looked great. I had her name engraved on the top, and the jeweller who engraved it basically said "What the f*ck, where did you get THIS? Nobody makes silver in this shape!"
So I explained, and he was a nice guy. The hardest part was finding someone to melt and cast it - I ended up making my own mould from an Ebay "soap" shaper, then putting it in my own crucible and paying the local steel fabricators a few drinks to melt it down with an oxy-acet torch during their lunch hour. I flatted and polished it, and just before I posted it to my friend I brought it down to the steel boys to show them. This time, they took ME out for a few pints, and I think there are probably a good few bars of silver with a name engraved on the top floating around by now! |
Re: Man we need 50$ Silver
The only people who "need" $50 silver are speculators.
The reasons to keep silver are for those times when the paper and the shiny new coins become worthless, and nobody will accept them. Very few of us will do well when the words "dollar" and "toilet paper" are the same. What the Hunt's did was an anomaly. |
Re: Man we need 50$ Silver
There should be serious leveling at about $35.
